Unboxing Protocol

Settle Your New Arrival

Allow newly arrived specimens forty-eight hours of indirect light to acclimatize before moving them into full exposure.

1. Inspect the roots

Gently remove packaging and check roots, cuttings, or bulbs for firmness and moisture. Note any damage before planting.

2. Hydrate gently

Mist or lightly water the substrate so it is evenly damp, not saturated. Let excess moisture drain away.

3. Choose the potting medium

Select a free-draining mix matched to the species. Pot in a container with drainage holes and room for the root mass.

4. Introduce light slowly

Place the plant in bright, indirect light first, then extend direct exposure over several days as growth settles.

Ongoing Cultivation

Care by Form and Season

Match substrate moisture and drainage to each Indian botanical species. Adjust watering and light for winter dormancy and summer growth.

Seeds and germination

Keep seed trays evenly moist and warm in bright, indirect light. Germination timing varies by species, so stay patient.

Rooting cuttings

Keep cuttings humid but not waterlogged. Watch for firm new growth as a sign that roots are establishing.

Bulb storage

Store dormant bulbs dry and cool between seasons. Resume watering only when active growth appears.
